Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B with a distinctive mix. Her career path has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European concerts and festivals and even to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has been born Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician, singing and playing at the local church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B culture. In 2005 she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her voice and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls show during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
