Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay fighter. She competes currently in the UFC Flyweight division. She is also the older sister of the former UFC Flyweight champion and the fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's professional career in combat sport started with her debut as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko took home another medal in 2007 and a bronze medal in 2008, and a gold in 2011, and then was named in the position of IFMA Amateur World Muay Thai Champion in 2016. Antonia started her professional journey back in 2003. She has won several awards, such as the K-1 World Championships, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships and WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was achieved by unanimity. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She took the title with a TKO in the second round. She went on to win her 2 subsequent fights, both at WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her comeback to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui by a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by the same decision. She quit the promotion and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's formidable strike abilities enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight following her first fight by an unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat by beating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko won her first three bouts, but lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
