Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde wigs and a pumped-up appearance, shares tips on how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell studied and worked in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. It was hard to study, do or work enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy Burrell developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on the way she prepares her food. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. She also is an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate in which she raises awareness about young diabetics. As a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her love for cooking and profession. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to share her true passion with other people.
